On the Radar: Spectral Detective
by LUCY CAMMISH
AT 25, Elaine Cassidy can already count Nicole Kidman and Bob Hoskins as colleagues. The actress, from the tiny village of Kilcoole in County Wicklow, has been working since she was at school. 'It seemed such a glamorous world to be a part of', she.says.
She attended a local drama school and appeared in two films before she was 18. She was then chosen to star in the movie.Felicia's Journey with Hoskins.
She worked with Kidman in The Others and has also played Hitler's neice, Geli, in Uncle Adolf on ITV1. 'I wanted everyone to know about her as she is so rarely mentioned in history.'
Her latest role is as a policewoman employed to expose corrupt coppers in the Channel 4 drama The Ghost Squad.
An enthusiastic cook ('I'm working my way through an Italian cookbook'), she has recently moved to London. 'I love walking around the city and going to the theatre, but I have left my heart in County Wicklow.'
The Ghost Squad starts on Channel 4 at 10pm on 15 November
