A rough gem at the end of the cop-show spectrum that continues to enthral.

Despite its familiar format, The Ghost Squad is less devoted to neat and happy endings; it's a rough gem at the end of the cop-show spectrum that continues to enthral.
Tonight, the squad, ever keen to keep the force squeaky clean, is on the case of Sally Marshall (Clare Holman), head of the serious crime squad and in line for a promotion to commander. Unsurprisingly, there are politics at work; some are determined to keep her out of the role; others are equally determined to make sure nothing stands in her way. Amy (Elaine Cassidy) is sent to tag along on one of Marshall's cases to find out whether there is any truth to suspicions that the boss's high success rate in solving cases is a result of unethical measures.
