Hi everyone,
I just wanted to pop on and say thank you to all who wished me well for my upcoming surgery both on site and privately over the last two weeks; however it is with much sadness I'm also here to tell you that my surgery was postponed due to the sudden passing of my mum on December 11; two day prior to my op.
Although a select few have known about this for some time, to everyone else I've kept my mum's brave battle against cancer very private. She had courageously fought the disease over last 15 months and although it looked likely she would beat it; the type of cancers she had were far too aggressive and she unfortunately lost her brave battle and passed away peacefully with Dad and I by her side.
As you can imagine, it's a very sad and painful time for us all, especially so close to Christmas, but we all take comfort in the fact she no longer has to battle nor suffer against this insidious disease and her passing was quick and painless, which for her, we are very grateful for.
I want to thank those who knew, for all your support, patience, understanding, condolences and well wishes over this difficult time - you've all been wonderful.
I know news like this can make some people feel uncomfortable or be at a loss for words, so please don't feel the need to say anything or feel bad for not saying anything - I completely understand; however if you'd like to say something, that's ok too.
As hard as it may be right now, life and subsequently, the show must go on and although my activity on site, especially the forum will be somewhat subdued for a while, since I can't sit on my bum and do nothing (unless I'm forced to) I'll be spending my time doing the stuff I mentioned not long ago for the site, any new updates, the website for my author friend and just generally pottering around graphics wise until my surgery, which is now the 17th January 2008.
While I'm here, I just want to say a quick thanks to Lou and Ronnie for keeping the site running as normal, even though they were doing it with a heavy heart and a brave face, and for respecting my privacy during this time .... I'm very grateful to you both, so thank you.
♥

About two weeks ago I was lucky enough to be able to buy the original Elaine Cassidy domain name of elainecassidy.com, so over the next two months, the site will slowly be changing over from www.love-n-lemons.com to www.elainecassidy.com Since the domain name was purchased from a different company, I have to wait out a 60 day grace period before I'm allowed to actually transfer the domain name on to the server; therefore the URL won't actually be changed until mid January next year, but it's linked into the server, so if you type it in, it will automatically re-direct you to Love 'n' Lemons. New banners, link back buttons and anything else 'graphics' related to Love 'n' Lemons will be replaced by the new elainecassidy.com ones sometime this week
.... just in case you're worried, the Love 'n' Lemons name and theme will still remain; however it won't be as predominant as it was before
2007
I don't normally post news or issues to do with myself on here; however since what will be happening next week will affect the workings of the website quite significantly, I thought it best to let you all know what's going on.
I recently found out that I have a badly torn rotator cuff on my right (dominant) shoulder which unfortunately has to be repaired this coming Thursday (13 December 2007) - I only found out the date a few days ago Since this surgery is quite big and only has a 40% success rate, I will need to take really good care of it, especially if I want to get a job in Graphic Design again; therefore the website will be taking second place for a little while, while I recover, which will be approximately 6 months.
I should be able to update the site with any new news items out on Elaine when they occur, but anything graphical or more technical just won't be possible for a while, unless I become a whiz with my left hand Be rest assured though, I will still and always will try to keep the site up-to date regardless of my situation, it just might happen a little slower than usual
Member Lou has created another fantastic video with scenes from A ROOM WITH A VIEW for you all to check out. You can view the video below, on her YouTube page or in the GALLERY.
Last night UK viewers were lucky enough to watch the debut of A ROOM WITH A VIEW which was aired on iTV1 at 9pm. So far only good things have been said about the new adaptation, which is not only great news for all involved in the production, but great news for all waiting for their copy of the DVD, which was released today, to arrive from the UK
If you are still after a copy of A ROOM WITH A VIEW, you can order it from Amazon UK for £10.98 with free delivery for orders over £15.00 and Play.com for £11.99 with free delivery.

New images including a headshot for Elaine have been added to her IMDb.com profile. All three images are provided below, while their larger versions can be seen in the GALLERY
A variety of new images including ones from THE CRUCIBLE, THERE CAME A GYPSY RIDING and the rare and hard to find THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE have been added to the GALLERY along with scans from various UK magazines of A ROOM WITH A VIEW. Thanks goes out to Lou for scanning the ARWAV articles and to Ronnie for finding some of the newly added photos
I finally received the October issue of Marie Claire magazine from the UK which has an article on Elaine and her mum Phil (short for Phyllis). The guy I bought it from falsely described the article as an 'in depth interview with great portraits', which is unfortunately not so. It's a very brief article with only one picture ... but a rare one at that, so I'm not complaining too much
TheLove 'n' Lemons Yahoo Group is now officially closed. Unfortunately the group is primarily only used as a spam depot now - which ends up being a pain for me in having to delete fake members and spam filled messages. No one really uses it now anyway due to the popularity of The Lemon Village, so I decided to close it down and concentrate on the more important & fun stuff
New designs are slowly being added to the STORE, so you will soon have more fun designs to choose from, rather than just the Love 'n' Lemons Logo. I'm still not sure if we'll be allowed to use the TEAM CASSIDY design yet, but once I hear back, I will let you all know - which will hopefully be soon
TheElaine Cassidy Interview which was previously only viewable by those living in the UK has been added below for all others around the world to see, so sit back and enjoy The video will be added to the GALLERY soon along with a few other Elaine video goodies.
Elaine Cassidy and her male co-star Rafe Spall are both featured on the front cover of the latest issue of the UK Radio Times, which also includes an article on the 'remake' of E. M. Forster's 1908 novel. Below you can see a sneak preview while the larger images will be added to the GALLERY soon, so keep checking back
This week iTV provided those living in the UK with some new A ROOM WITH A VIEW goodies including a teaser and video interview with some of the cast. While those of us outside the UK weren't able to see them, member Lou was kind enough to screen cap some images of Elaine from the special features provided. A few images have been added below and the rest you can view in the GALLERY.
CORRECTION: Lou emailed iTV to get the correct air time for A ROOM WITH A VIEW since two different times had cropped up and they indeed got it wrong on their website. A ROOM WITH A VIEW will be aired at 9pm until 11pm on Sunday 4th November, not 8pm as previously stated.
Elaine's agent at Independent was kind enough to email me back about the new US agency Paradigm which had recently been added to Elaine's IMDb Pro profile. I can confirm Elaineis still with Independent; however she is now being repersented by Paradigm for whenever she is in the US.
Bonnie and Claire from the lovely Rachael-Stirling.com have graciously come on board as affiliates of our little Love 'n' Lemons universe As most of you know, Elaine and Rachael starred together in THE TRUTH and have also on separate occasions been a lead role in a Sarah Waters adaptation - Rachael for TIPPING THE VELVET and Elaine of course for FINGERSMITH. Make sure to drop on over and take a look at the premier site for all things Rachael Stirling
Speaking of Affiliates, you might notice some new 'link back' buttons have been provided to all those who would like to be affiliated with this site. If you do want to be affiliated with Love 'n' Lemons, you will need to apply via email.
COMING SOON - A new in depth interview with Elaine and her mum Phyllis including exclusive photos ... stay tuned
MemberLou was kind enough to edit out Elaine's interview for the UNCLE ADOLF DVD and provide it to the wesite for all who haven't seen it yet. You can view the video below, in the GALLERY or on Lou'sYouTube page - enjoy
UK independent TV channel iTV has added a new trailer of A ROOM WITH A VIEW which can be viewed in their iTV Showcase section or you can view the trailer below or in the 'Trailers' section of the GALLERY.
A ROOM WITH A VIEW is set to air on iTV1 on November 4, 2007 and will be released on DVD the following day. Pre-orders are still being taken at Amazon UK.

A new poll has been added to the site home page, so please stop by and give us your opinion. All polls are 100% anonymous. New 'Latest Pics' have also been added, as well as a picture for A ROOM WITH A VIEW has been added to the 'Projects' section and 'Television' section of the website.
I wonder if they heard us? The DVD cover for A ROOM WITH A VIEW has suddenly been replaced on Amazon UK with a more 'neutral' cover than its former 'damsel in distress' themed DVD cover. The first cover caused somewhat of a debate amongst Elaine Cassidy fans across various forums recently due to the way Lucy was portrayed on the cover; whether this had anything to do with the change we may never know, but if it did, it's nice to know they may have taken on board our opinions I for one like the new DVD cover (see below), which places Elaine as an equal to her leading man, rather than a lesser and is quite similar in positioning to that of the original movie cover, which seems more appropriate.
Sorry for the lack of updates and having to wait to enter the GALLERY guys, but I have been away on a bit of a holiday to go see the wonderfully delectable and incredibly awesome Ms Tori Amos while she was here in Oz for her world tour of her new album American Doll Posse.
... both the Brisbane and Sydney shows were beyond BRILLIANT
A reception and private screening for Elaine's new movie AND WHEN DID YOU LAST SEE YOUR FATHER? took place last Sunday night at The Tabby Cat Lounge in London, England. Guests included Elaine's fiancé Stephen Lord, sister Gillian and Mark Kavanagh (aka Rasher - not Strecher as Getty incorrectly put) who we suspect (although not confirmed) may be Gillian's husband. Below is a sneak peek and the rest you can find in the GALLERY
iF Magazine recently reported that US network FOX is set to do an American version of THE GHOST SQUAD. Here is what the article said:
Though it sounds like a supernatural version of TORCHWOOD, it's not: GHOST SQUAD is a British series about a female undercover cop recruited into a top secret organization within the police itself called – you guessed it – the Ghost Squad. But you'll know more about it soon, if Fox has anything to say about it.
The network has just acquired the rights to develop a U.S. version of the drama starring Elaine Cassidy which aired on U.K. network Channel 4 back in 2005. (The series isn't over, despite having had only seven episodes and having been on hiatus since then – you know what British TV series are like.) The Stateside version would be set in Chicago, where – you guessed it again, smartie – a female undercover cop is recruited into a top secret yadda, yadda, yadda. No word yet on when production will begin, who will star, none of that. Maybe it's secret or something.
It was recently discovered that Elaine's profile on IMDb Pro is now showing a new/different agent called Paradigm, which is based in NY and Beverly Hills. I have contacted Independent (formerly ICM) to see if they are still representing her and to make sure her fan mail address is still correct; if not, a new address will be provided asap.
The cover for the DVD of A ROOM WITH A VIEW has finally been added to Amazon UK, which you can view below. The DVD will be released on 5 November 2007 and is still available for pre-orders. A ROOM WITH A VIEW will be shown on ITV1 in the UK soon.
I mentioned the other day that I was able to get a hold of an out of print magazine called Fable which contains an interview with Elaine Cassidy and Cillian Murphy from DISCO PIGS back in 2001. Well today it arrived in the mail and I've spent all afternoon editing the images for the website and GALLERY for you to check out. I also typed out the interview which you can have a read of in the PRINT section of the website. Below is one of the imagess of Elaine from the interview - enjoy
After all this time, the people at Ferndale Films still haven't got back to me, so the reasons for the cancellation of MY BOY still remains a mystery. I am also still waiting on a response for my enquiry about Elaine's secret short CAMOUFLAGE - hopefully that will be resolved soon.
Last night Elaine & guest attended the Nina Ricci Boutique Launch Party, at Harvey Nichols in London. You can see a sneak peek of the images below. Full versions are available in the GALLERY. Thanks goes to Lou for spotting these pics
Thanks to Ronnie and her magnificant detective skills, we now have even more never before seen images of Elaine from a few years ago. Check out the sneak peek below, and the rest you can find in the GALLERY.
The other day I managed to get a hold of a very VERY rare magazine containing an interview and images of Cillian Murphy and Elaine from their Disco Pigs days way back in 2001. I'm still yet to receive the mag, so once it arrives, the interview will be put up in the PRINT section as well as scans/photos of the pictures will be put up in the GALLERY. The mag was worth a mint, so all images will be watermarked and like all other images on site, are not to be taken for sale or profit.
Thanks to member Ronnie, we now have a few new images of Elaine at the Berlin Film Festival in 2001, plus a few more from various events over the last 2 years - thanks Ronnie! As always a sneak peak of the new images have been added below, and the rest you can view in the GALLERY.
MemberLou was able to take a snap shot of the first image from the set of A ROOM WITH A VIEW which was featured in the UK TV Times this week. Unfortunately Elaine is not facing the camera, but it's something new nontheless!
As you all may now know, a 'Countries Online' and a new chat system has been added to the website, so you can now see and interact with people from all over the world while visiting the website. So far the chat system is only a temporary one to find out how popular it is. If it takes off I will implement a much better system which is in real time (i.e. no need to refresh the page) and includes many features such as username protection, better security, 'users online' + many more - let me know what you all think
After a bit of a snoop around the internet last night, member Lou and I were lucky enough to stumble upon some new images of Elaine as well as ones we have never seen before from her earlier theatre productions THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE & SCENES FROM THE BIG PICTURE. I've added a sneak peak of some of the images we found below and the rest you can find in the GALLERY. A big thanks to Lou for all her help and a big thanks to dc for finding some 'unwatermarked' theatre pics tonight

LONDON:COLOUR BLIND PT.2 - Amy (Elaine Cassidy) meets with McKay (Emma Fielding) and Pete (Jonas Armstrong) to go over the evidence. If Gus (Adrian Lester) is sleeping with his informant Geeta (Samantha Schefele) then the other allegations may also be true.
Amy feels betrayed and angry. If he's found guilty, she's going to destroy him.
Her fears are compounded when she learns that Gus has been interfering with the suspects in Terry's (Shane Attwooll) murder. He's been to see Pedro Collins (Ricci McLeod) and Mickey Borne (Johann Myers) in their cells, unaccompanied and without Murder Squad permission.
Then Amy discovers that photographs of Gus and Geeta were doctored by The Ghost Squad itself, and suddenly she doesn't know who to believe or trust. Are Pete and McKay trying to frame an innocent man? Is The Ghost Squad itself a corrupt unit?

As filming continues in Mill Hill and all miss the beautiful Florence, Eileen Quinn provides us another wonderfully written blog for the Telegraph. The latest entitled Mambo Italiano details a funny account of 'dreadful Italy-lag' and the need to find Italy in everything from a Cappuccino, to hearing an electrician whistle La donna e mobile while working ... although reading the blogs are an exciting weekly adventure, one can't help but wish Eileen would share a pic or two of Elaine as well.
You can also check out Eileen's blog from last week called Back to Earth.
As the second last episode airs on ABC TV Australia tonight at 9:40pm, I'm pleased to announce ABC TV Australia have released THE GHOST SQUAD on DVD! To purchase a copy you can visit:

LONDON:COLOUR BLIND PT.1 - Amy is targeting Gus Philips (Adrian Lester). He is handsome, charismatic and one of the few black Detective Inspectors in the Metropolitan Police. Gus has been accused of sleeping with his informant Geeta Patel (Samantha Schefele), dealing drugs, pimping prostitutes and using the local estate as his own personal kingdom. So far, Amy has found no evidence to substantiate the allegations.
The case seems to be going nowhere until PC Terry Dewhurst (Shane Attwooll) is murdered by a gang of black youths on a housing estate.
Terry was one of the officers who had made the allegations about Gus. He was killed on the same estate where Geeta Patel lives and where Gus trawls day and night. Amy thinks it's just a horrible coincidence, but Pete and McKay are less certain. Maybe Gus had Terry killed in order to silence the accusations.
As the murder investigation gets underway, Amy finds that her attraction towards Gus makes it impossible for her to believe that he could be corrupt. Pete watches on and is convinced that Gus is simply playing Amy.
But when an envelope containing compromising photos of Gus and Geeta Patel arrives on her desk, it seems all the accusations that Amy has so vehemently denied, could be true.Has Amy made a terrible mistake?
