My internet was down all day, so I'm a bit late uploading the new GHOST SQUAD slide show . With only two episodes left, episode 6 of the ever popular GHOST SQUAD aired tonight on ABC TV at 9:40pm.
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE: NECESSARY MEANS - PC Sarah Houghton (Neve McIntosh) works for the Community Safety Unit, and her profile suggests she's a good cop and dedicated to victim support. But the Financial Crimes Unit have found irregularities in her bank account. Large payments are going in and out, well beyond the salary of a police officer. McKay (Emma Fielding) thinks it's a money-laundering scam and Amy's (Elaine Cassidy) job is to find out where the money is coming from.
The girls get on well, but Amy soon finds that Sarah isn't the most popular officer in the chauvinistic station. Her commitment to victim confidentiality means refusing to share intelligence with the Serious Crime Unit, headed up by DS Vinny Thomas (Joseph Millson).
As Amy investigates deeper, she uncovers a ring of deception centred around Vinny - dealing drugs and involved in an abusive relationship with Sarah. Needing to be accepted as one of the lads on the team, Amy realises that the only way to get closer to Vinny is to betray her friendship with Sarah. But as the pressure on Sarah from the rest of the station to join them becomes increasingly heavy, Amy realises that she is unwittingly forcing an innocent policewoman to break the law.
Filming began this week in Florence, Italy for A ROOM WITH A VIEW. Eileen Quinn is doing a wonderful job keeping us all up-to-date on the happenings on-set with her weekly blogs . Here is a small extract from her latest featuring Elaine entitled A bang and a whimper:
"Elaine Cassidy (who is playing the female lead, Lucy Honeychurch) arrives on set for her first scene looking like an Edwardian angel all in linen and lace, her gamine face lit up by an enormous cheeky grin as she greets me."
Katherine Brooks looks to still have Elaine on the casting table for her new movie WAKING MADISON; however this time it's for the character of Grace rather than Madison. Will Elaine say yes this time .... stay tuned!
Thanks to our video guru Ronnie, we have a new video featuring scenes from DISCO PIGS played out to the song It's Not Over by Chris Daughtry. You can check out the video below or you can watch it on YouTube and leave a comment and rating for Ronnie. Alternatively, you can also watch it in the GALLERY. Enjoy!

It looks as though Ferndale Films have finally given up the ghost on making MY BOY. All traces of the movie have been removed from IMDb, including all actor profiles. I have contacted Ferndale Films to see what happened, so if I get a response, I'll be sure to let you all know.
A new commenting system has been added to the website (which you can see in the bottom right hand corner of each newly added news section), so you can now leave feedback, share your opinion, comment on the subject at hand or simply just say 'Hi'
Episode 5 of THE GHOST SQUAD entitled Greater Manchester airs tonight on ABC TV Australia at 9:40pm.
GREATER MANCHESTER: FIREWALL - Amy (Elaine Cassidy) has three targets within the Witness Protection Unit; DC Richard Ellis (Paul Popplewell), DS Tony Sharpe (Neil Bell) and DS Jimmy Franks (Jason Flemyng). One of them is corrupt and desperate to prevent Brendan (Tony Maudsley), the sole witness to a murder from giving evidence. Without him, the murderer Warren Cole, walks free.
Amy is assigned to work alongside them, finding herself babysitting Brendan in a safe house, giving him constant reassurance that he's safe and doing the right thing. But when a funeral wreath with Brendan's name on it is delivered, the atmosphere changes.
Amy and Pete (Jonas Armstrong) are most suspicious of Jimmy - he's secretive, his behaviour is unpredictable and he has repeatedly slipped their surveillance. When Pete is finally able to keep tabs on him, he finds that it leads him to a restaurant where Jimmy is meeting DCS Carol McKay (Emma Fielding).
Amy and Pete are stunned to discover that Jimmy is a Ghost Squad officer himself. McKay has brought them in because Jimmy has been failing to get results and she's worried about him. The closer Amy gets to Jimmy, the more she sees how badly the job has affected him. Years of undercover work have taken their toll and Amy is offered a glimpse into her own possible future.
But just how badly traumatised is Jimmy? And is it enough to become corrupted?

Make sure to grab a front row seat for episode 4, which airs tonight on ABC TV Australia at 9:35pm. A new review has been written by reviewer Jen Rosenberg for the Sydney Morning Herald, which again, is very much in favour of the series . You can read the review here.
THE GREATER GOOD:SCOTTISH BORDERS - Detective Chief Superintendent Sally Marshall (Clare Holman) is a rising star in the force and head of the Serious Crime Squad. But her success rate is suspiciously high and there is concern that she has been cutting corners to get results. With Sally in line for promotion to the role of Commander, McKay (Emma Fielding) is asked to find out if there is anything that the police should know before making such a high profile promotion. Amy (Elaine Cassidy) is sent in to find out if Sally has any dirty secrets.
Amy joins Sally's team alongside Detective Inspector Sinclair (Paul Ireland), to investigate the brutal murder of a young woman. Their prime suspect is Keith Warren (Stuart McQuarrie), arrested for a similar crime 18 months before but later released because of circumstantial evidence. This time, Marshall is determined to convict him. But is she willing to break the law in order to get her man and win herself the promotion she craves?
The situation becomes more complicated when Amy spots Sally having lunch with Robert (James Weber Brown), her senior police officer boyfriend. Amy begins to realise that she has unwittingly become a pawn in other people's political games.
If you're in Australia, make sure to tune in tonight for episode 3 of the THE GHOST SQUAD, airing at 9:35pm on the ABC (Channel 2).
HEROES: WEST YORKSHIRE - Sergeant Ralph Allen (Brendan Coyle) is an old-fashioned, no-nonsense copper, or a "dinosaur" according to McKay (Emma Fielding). She suspects he is bringing the force into disrepute and needs removing. Amy's task is clear - get close to him, prove that he's abusing his position and get him kicked out.
Amy (Elaine Cassidy) goes undercover with Ralph to follow up the disappearance of tearaway Danielle Parker, a teenage member of a notorious girl gang that runs amok on the local estate. Ralph doesn't seem to bother about the missing teenager, but when his friend Eddy (Jamie Cymbal) is viciously attacked by Danielle's crew, Ralph becomes determined to bring the gang to justice.
Amy soon finds that she likes Ralph. Despite his gruff appearance, Ralph is dedicated to the job and intent on making a difference for the community he serves. In turn Amy starts to feel uncomfortable with McKay's desire to remove him unceremoniously from the force.
Meanwhile McKay, who has asked Pete (Jonas Armstrong) to spy on Amy, is concerned to learn that Amy is having an affair with a married, senior police officer - Deputy Assistant Commissioner Robert Townsend (James Weber Brown). Is Amy leaking information about The Ghost Squad to him? McKay orders Pete to bug Amy's flat to find out what she's let on and begins to plot a way of splitting them up.

Episode 2 of the much anticipated UK drama THE GHOST SQUAD airs tonight on Australia's ABC TV Channel (Channel 2) at 9:20pm.
HARDCORE:HUMBERSIDE - Amy (Elaine Cassidy), the Ghost Squad's rookie recruit, is thrown in at the deep end investigating a team of cops who've been working undercover for months tracking a network of sex traffickers. Amy's boss, Detective Chief Superintendent Carol McKay (Emma Fielding) believes that one or more of the team have changed allegiances.
The team, headed by Mike Pearce (Cal Macaninch), are expecting a hidden consignment of 30 young Eastern European girls to be shipped into enforced prostitution. The cops' work is dangerous and extreme, and Amy can't help but be impressed by the level of self-sacrifice these officers are making in order to maintain their cover. For Amy, this is policing like she's never seen before. In fact Mike, Kate (Donna Alexander) and Billy (Brooks Livermore) are so deep undercover Amy can never be absolutely sure which side they're on.
McKay watches Amy's personal engagement with her team with a growing unease. Worried that Amy will take things too personally and put the secrecy of the Ghost Squad at risk, she instructs Pete (Jonas Armstrong) to watch over Amy very carefully.
Amy may have got close to these tough, seemingly devoted police officers, but someone has betrayed them and it is her job to uncover who and why.

It is confirmed that Elaine will play the character of Lucy Honeychurch in ITV's Television adaptation of A ROOM WITH A VIEW. Below is an article about the project by the UK Telegraph which you can also find in the PRINT section.
Timothy Spall and son star in racy 'A Room With a View'
By Andrew Pettie
Timothy Spall and his son, Rafe, will star in a major new television production of A Room with a View, The Daily Telegraph can reveal.
The Spalls, who have never starred together on screen, will play father and son in a new version of E M Forster's novel being adapted for ITV by Andrew Davies, the celebrated screenwriter.
Viewers should probably expect a racier telling of the tale than is found in his original Edwardian coming-of-age novel, which was first published in 1908.
Davies, who wrote scripts for films including Bridget Jones's Diary and House of Cards, is known for his raunchy period adaptations, which include Tipping the Velvet and The Chatterley Affair.
Timothy and Rafe Spall, who will play the eccentric Mr Emerson and his son, George, will be joined by a cast including Timothy West, who is to play snobbish chaplain Mr Eager, while the kindly Reverend Beebe will be played by The Fast Show's Mark Williams.
Elaine Cassidy will play Lucy Honeychurch, the naïve heroine who becomes romantically entangled with George Emerson during a visit to Florence. Helena Bonham Carter played Lucy in the 1985 Oscar-winning film adaptation, which also starred Maggie Smith, Judi Dench and Denholm Elliott.
Laurence Fox will play Lucy's arrogant suitor, Cecil Vyse. The plot revolves around Lucy's difficulty in choosing between her two suitors, the sensitive but socially unsuitable George and the handsome but overbearing Cecil.
Nick Renton will direct the adaptation which will be screened later this year.
• Eileen Quinn, the head of drama at IWC Media, which is producing A Room with a View for ITV, is writing an on-set blog exclusively for the Telegraph.
A magical moment to kick off pre-production: one of the key images in the Italian part of our film is Lucy Baedeker, a distinctive red guidebook which no self respecting Grand Tourist would dare leave home without.
Filming starts in Italy
In our script she nearly loses it after witnessing a murder, only to have it retrieved by our hero George Emerson (Rafe Spall) in one of their first intimate scenes together.
Much later, after kissing George in a field of flowers, she puts one of the flowers between its pages - and firmly shuts the book on it, signalling her decision to leave George behind and try to embrace a different destiny.
In our bustling new offices at Shepperton Studios, southwest of London, our art director Beckie brings me a 1909 Baedeker - one of our first props for the shoot.
As I flip it open to have a look I see a feminine signature inside the front cover, indecipherable now, faded and blue - and as the book fans open, we find there, pressed between the pages, a delicate and wafer-thin yellow flower from someone's long-ago memory.
Lapsed Catholic fatalist and hopeless Italophile romantic that I am, I have to believe this is a good omen!
I'm taking this talisman with me to Rome tomorrow - where our director Nick Renton and I have been granted an audience with the greatest living film composer, Ennio Morricone (The Mission, Cinema Paradiso etc).
In my faltering Italian, I intend to ask the maestro to write the score for this project. Per favore…

A new article on THE GHOST SQUAD from the Sydney Morning Herald has been added to the PRINT section. So far all Australian reviewers are giving the series a big and reviewer Lucy from the above newspaper describes Elaine as "... cute - actually very cute with glossy, bouncy hair - and clever, getting through an average day and the arrest of a small-time local crook." With the show looking to be very popular here in Oz ... here's hoping it will finally be released on DVD!
THE GHOST SQUAD makes it's Australian Television debut next Friday night, 25 May 2007, on ABC TV at 9:20pm.
ONE OF US:LONDON - Amy Harris (Elaine Cassidy) loves being a cop. Young, popular and ambitious she thrives on everything the job throws at her.
The routine arrest of a young Asian man, Rakesh Homaine, turns into a murder investigation when Amy finds him alone in the police interview room beaten, battered and drowned in his own blood.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) storm the building, locking down the entire station. No one is allowed in or out, all phones are confiscated and the building becomes a crime scene and a prison for the working police officers - everyone is a murder suspect.
Amy becomes the prime suspect. Realising that she is being framed by one of her fellow officers, Amy sets out to find Rakesh's killer.
Working against the clock and desperate to clear her name, Amy uncovers a level of corruption in her station that forces her into a decision that will change her life forever.
Did you know .... Elaine Cassidy starred in a film by Ciara Moore entitled CAMOUFLAGE, which was submitted for The 47th Cork Film Festival way back in 2002?! Below is an extract from a report about the festival, which talks a little about the film ...
"This leaves the annual event which always sells out quickest, even after having been moved to a larger venue this year - the Made in Cork evening dedicated to local filmmaking. However, at this stage it might as well be called the Cork Comedy Film Evening! The comedy is rapidly becoming the local cinematic speciality. Of the nine films screened, six were straight comedies and one was a humorous documentary, Padraig Trehy's account of the rise and fall of the band The Sultans of Ping, Trying to Sell Your Soul When the Devil Won't Listen (2002) which, at 27 minutes, was the longest film shown. That left Ciara Moore's Camouflage (2002) and my Dreaming Forward (2002) to account for the art movie.
In my mind the best film on the programme by a wide margin, Camouflage is a non-narrative piece about a young woman played by the captivating Elaine Cassidy wandering through a mysterious hotel. According to the programme its "structure and content are explorations on the nature of memories". Well, I didn't figure that out whilst I was watching it and I honestly can't say I completely understand that interpretation now, but it is a very beautiful film which I hope will be screened as widely as possible."
I'm not sure how to get a hold of this film nor is there any information on the web about CAMOUFLAGE or the film's creator, Ciara Moore. I've tried contacting a few sources, so fingers crossed we can find out more and possibly, although very slight, be able to buy a few copies.

The Daily Mail recently reported that Laurence Fox (below, left) is in early discussions to play effete toff Cecil Vyse in ITV's production of E. M. Forster's A ROOM WITH A VIEW .
That's the role Daniel Day Lewis seamlessly inhabited in James Ivory's classic 1985 movie.
Andrew Davies [Tipping the Velvet] has adapted the book and filming will take place in Florence (for one week) and London (for three weeks) because the budget's not there to shoot more of it in Italy.
Rafe Spall is in negotiations to play George Emerson (Julian Sands in the Merchant-Ivory picture).
Director Nick Renton [UNCLE ADOLF] is rumoured to be asking Elaine Cassidy and Elizabeth McGovern to be in the TV film.
For those who don't know the story, it's about a young woman from Edwardian England who, while on holiday in Italy, almost doesn't realise that she's fallen in love with someone from the wrong end of the social scale.
I understand that screenwriter Andrew Davies has done a marvellous job capturing Forster's tone.

Direct from Katherine's latest blog:
Waking Madison cast update....
So -- for those who follow it - here it is -- for those who don't -- www.WakingMadison.com
Okay, so Elaine Cassidy is doing a movie starting in June so we couldn't get her.
Mo'nique is working so she can't do Shante. I want to try and get Octavia Spencer or the woman from Weeds.
Maria had the script for 3 weeks and we're moving on after not even hearing anything knowing she probably didn't even get to read it. We are going after either Maura Tierney or Elisabeth Shue next.
Olivia d'Abo, Laura Breckenridge and Erin Kelly are going to play the three other leads in the hospital. There offers went out today and so they should be signed on next week.
I'm trying to get Scott Wilson for Madison's dad. He is reading over the weekend. I love him!!
Lesley Anne Warren for Madison's mom. I wanted Sally Fields but there is no way we can afford her and I don't know anyone that knows her to get a favor.
Evan Rachel Wood is reading it right now for Madison....we haven't even talked money with her people yet.
The two hardest parts of making a movie: MONEY - CASTING
I have learned some great lessons....I'll keep you posted on how is all plays out. So much to do in such little time.
The good news is Elaine is working on something new, so she will be gracing our screens once again sometime in the near future, it's just a pity she couldn't fit this one in too. My heart goes out to Kat, the numerous Elaine Cassidy fans and all the supporters of Kat and her movie who were really hoping Elaine would be able to take on the wonderful role of Madison ... whoever it goes to, I'm sure they will be a wonderful Madison in their own right!
2007
Katherine Brooks made an offer to Elaine today and stated in her latest video blog (24/04/07): "...we're gonna start checking in with trying to schedule around Elaine Cassidy and try to get her as Madison".

Recently, director Katherine Brooks managed to track down Elaine Cassidy to ask her about the possibility of playing the part of Madison in her new movie WAKING MADISON; however the bad news is Elaine is already set to star in another up and coming project! Although there are scheduling conflicts between the two, Kat is still going to try for Elaine as long as possible, and since we all have our hearts set on Elaine as Madison, let's all hope and pray she can fit Kat's project in as well! ...and says yes of course!
In the meantime, please visit all of Katherine's sites (see below) to give your support, donate some money to the project and if you have a MySpace account, make sure to drop by and say a few words, lend your support and help out where you can.

Although there is no evidence as yet on IMDb, producer/director Benjamin Johns mentions on his film production website Eye-Cue Films and MySpace profile that he has Elaine Cassidy signed on for his new movie entitled COMBER EUROPA!, which is due to start filming sometime in 2008!

Katherine Brooks of FINDING KATE and LOVING ANNABELLE fame, has a new movie in the works entitled WAKING MADISON, which is due to start filming in early May 2007. Erin Kelly, also from the above titles, has already signed on for the project, playing the character of Alexis and although an actress for the lead character of Madison has not yet been chosen, our girl Elaine Cassidy has not only caught the eye of Katherine herself as a suggested favourite, but is the hot favourite among the many voices over at Katherine's MySpaceBlog, which you can check out here. GO ELAINE!! After reading the synopsis and having a look at Katherine's Video Blogs on the project (which are well worth watching and can be found on the WAKING MADISON Website), without being biased, since I run a website in her honour, I know for sure that Elaine would be absolutely perfect for the role! So here's to hoping Elaine will say a big fat YES to Katherine if and when she asks the Sublime One. Hoorah! ... in the meantime, please enjoy my mock graphic of what will hopefully be ... fingers crossed!
To find out more about WAKING MADISON and vote for Elaine for the lead role, as well as give your support to Katherine, her production team and the movie itself, please visit:
To chat more about Katherine's new movie, you can visit the new WAKING MADISON section in the EC NEWS ROOM over at The Lemon Village Forum.

About a week or so ago, I asked our very talented member ronnie to make up a video of scenes of Amy from THE GHOST SQUAD played out to the song Hear Me by Kelly Clarkson, which I have had stuck in my head for a while now ... and being the darling she is, she sweetly obliged and did a fantastic job of it. Thanks Ronnie! You can view the video below or visit the Hear Me video on YouTube, where you can also see ronnie's other videos.
